I was at a funeral a few weeks ago and the minister talked about the lady’s reason for living. She was very clear in her reason for living. This made me think about my reason. Many people would say their children, to be happy, for holidays, to be with family. I thought, all those things are great but anyone along would not be my sole reason.
For me it would be enriching myself and by that I mean growing as a person. Growing is a combination of many different aspects. There is spiritual growth, understanding more about myself, health growth and knowledge growth. Those ones spring to mind and I am sure you can think of many more.
Every person I meet and every story I hear helps me grow as a person. It gives me greater understanding of others, greater empathy and enables me to be with them in their journey. Even negative things that happen in our lives are important for growth.
This brings me a question you and I should be asking ourselves every day.
Is what I am doing today helping me grow? If not, change it. Obviously I am all about health and improving your health is a journey along with all the other journeys we are undertaking to improve ourselves. It is really easy to say ‘tomorrow’ I will do something for my health and in reality tomorrow never comes.
My final message is to think about your reason for living and from there make sure you don’t waste a day in working towards that reason.
